This custom home set the bar for client involvement. The owners had very strong ideas about what they wanted and it wasn’t “off the shelf.” The home has a timber-framed entry, living room, and back porch. The fir trim and madrone floors came from a local saw mill less than a mile away. The basement floor is acid-etched, the kitchen countertops are copper, and the bar was recycled from an old restaurant butcher block. The client handpicked the rocks around the fireplace and the pebbles for the shower floor. The home has radiant floor heat and was insulated using a “flash and batt” technique that utilizes a thin layer of high density spray foam to provide exceptional air sealing.
